Communication is a process by which we exchange information between individuals, team etc. In communication one tires to be clear and accurate in order to convey an idea, information, intention, or thoughts. Language plays an important role in good communication. Verbal communication involves language. Knowing the language better will enhance the way we communicate to other.

A communication is good only when the sender and the receiver understand the same information. In present times the technology has replaced the traditional channels of communication and hence one has to have greater awareness of the need to communicate effectively in order to be successful. Following are the ways of achieving good communication

1. Knowing: Understanding your message is the key to effective communication. Know who is your receiver, his/her cultural differences, gender, age, etc., what you want the receiver to understand from your message, knowing this will remove all the barriers in your communication.

2.Saying: Communication involves both verbal and nonverbal language. While you say something to the other person, establish eye contact this will build confidence in you. Trust and credibility is required to enable the receiver to understand your message and act on it. If the other person does not find you serious, then your message suffers in the process and communication is interrupted. Good body language and bodily postures will enhance your communication.

3. Listening: As much as you know and say, you should be a good listener because good communication is always two ways. Give your full attention to the other person’s response. While you listen, try to understand what the other person is saying rather than waiting for your turn to blurt out your ideas and thoughts.
