Lizzie lived in a pretty house with her four sisters. She loved to laugh and explore the green fields.
One sunny day, a rich gentleman named Mr. Darcy came to live nearby. He seemed very grand and kept to himself.
Lizzie watched him and thought, “Oh, he looks so proud! He doesn’t want to play or talk to anyone.”
She made up her mind that she did not like Mr. Darcy at all. His serious face made her feel cross.
But then, one day, Lizzie saw Mr. Darcy help a lost puppy find its way home. He was gentle and kind.
Another time, he quietly helped a family in need. Lizzie saw his generous heart, not just his serious face.
Lizzie felt a little silly. She realized she had judged Mr. Darcy too quickly, just by how he looked.
She learned that it’s important to be kind and give everyone a chance. Hearts can be hidden behind quiet ways.
Mr. Darcy, seeing Lizzie’s kind smile, learned to smile more too. He found that being open made him happier.
And so, Lizzie and Mr. Darcy became wonderful friends. They both learned to look for the good in every person.
